The Software Engineering Manager will lead mission-focused teams, support the growth of high-performing engineering teams, and ensure the delivery of secure and reliable products.
Responsibilities:
- Leading mission focused teams of software engineers to improve the lives of Henry Schein One users and their patients through the creation of market leading solutions
- Help recruit and retain engineers to create a high performing engineering team
- Oversee team leaders and support them on their mission and delivery commitments
- Enable your engineering teams to practice continuous delivery at scale by removing workflow roadblocks
- Inspire, motivate and coach to enable continuous development of team leaders and their teams
- Ensure products are secure, compliance and reliable for Henry Schein One customers
- Collaborate with senior leaders across vision and strategy for your workstreams and products
- Work closely with Product leadership to influence and understand strategic commitments of your teams
- Develop meaningful relationships and work across the business to influence others to aim for the best possible user experience
- Enable process and practice maturity to deliver on global growth opportunities
- Positively and collaboratively influence decision making to improve practices with your teams, department and stakeholder network
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred
- Technical depth with the ability to contribute hands-on alongside the team
- 7+ years of progressive software development experience
- 1–2 years leading high-performing teams in remote/hybrid environments
- Proven success building scalable web applications for large user bases
- Hands-on experience with modern SPA frameworks
- Background in database technologies
- Deep understanding of RESTful API design and integration
- Experience connecting with internal and third-party services
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to lead, influence, and thrive in a hybrid work culture
