About the Role
The Industrial Machine Mechanic II primary responsibilities are to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment in Lighthouse Louisiana’s production and manufacturing facility. The incumbent in this position should have knowledge of automatic high-speed manufacturing equipment or the aptitude to learn equipment operations as needed.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Industrial Machine Mechanic II shall be responsible for the following core job duties:
- Perform preventive maintenance, and inspections, on all production machinery and equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and Lighthouse Louisiana Preventive Maintenance Schedule.
- Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance reports.
- Repair and maintain the operating condition of production machinery and equipment. Clean, lubricate, and adjust equipment as needed.
- Respond to emergency calls at night and on weekends, when required.
- Install, program, and repair programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and variable frequency drives.
- Install and repair electrical apparatus such as transformers, wiring, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Maintain adequate spare parts inventory by properly recording usage of spare parts including all lubricants and cleaning supplies.
- Perform all maintenance requests and facility-related repairs as directed by the Director of Facilities Management.
- Report any maintenance needs to Manager of Equipment Maintenance and Repair .
- Proactively eliminate safety hazards, utilize safe work habits, and report safety issues, accidents and/or near misses promptly to the appropriate Lighthouse’s Safety and Quality Manager.
- Keep work areas safe, organized, and clean at all times.
- Document equipment issues and repairs, to include labor and parts expenses.
- Complete all required documentation in an accurate and timely manner, while maintaining organized records.
- Perform all duties in the most efficient manner to minimize down time on all machines/equipment.
- Perform all duties in compliance with the Lighthouse Louisiana – Standard Operating Procedures, ISO and Quality System procedures.
- Conduct all business in a positive, professional manner and always foster a strong teambuilding environment among staff members.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to operating a production equipment if needed.
- Ability to guide the work of other subordinate level Mechanics in an operational environment.
- Maintain equipment service records.
- Continue ongoing training and education on relevant electrical components.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager of Equipment Maintenance and Repair.
Requirements
JOB QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School or GED. Technical training or relevant experience.
- Special Knowledge or Skills: Must have experience in a maintenance mechanic role within a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, temperature, and pressure gauges. Basic mechanical aptitude, ability to diagnose and analyze mechanical problems. Able to use all types of micrometers. Forklift certified ability. Must have good communication skills and basic math skills. Must have working Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience: Minimum, 1-year mechanical experience, preferably in a high-speed manufacturing environment. Relevant experience will be considered.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
- Physical: Must be able to lift 75 lbs., bend, stoop, climb, stand and walk on a regular basis. Able to travel throughout the facility to safely and effectively manage all work responsibilities, breaks and emergency evacuations, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Able to manage all self-care needs and activities of daily living as required to support successful employment, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

- Work Schedule: 40 hours weekly, Monday – Friday, overtime as needed. Occasional nights and weekends may be required.
