Job Summary:
The Corporate Human Resources Intern will support Columbia Forest Products’ corporate HR team by assisting with people programs, HR operations, talent initiatives, and employee experience projects that support the organization’s workforce strategy. This role provides hands‑on exposure to HR functions in a multi‑location manufacturing organization, with opportunities to contribute to initiatives spanning talent development, engagement, compliance, and process improvement.
HR Operations & Program Support
- Assist with day‑to‑day HR operations, including maintaining documentation, trackers, and HR files.
- Support corporate HR processes such as onboarding coordination, policy updates, and employee lifecycle documentation.
- Help ensure HR data and records are accurate, organized, and aligned with internal standards.
Talent & Development Initiatives
- Support HR initiatives related to internship programs, leadership development, training coordination, and workforce planning.
- Assist with scheduling, preparation, and follow‑up for training sessions, development programs, and HR‑led meetings.
- Contribute to materials, guides, and resources used for employee and manager development.
Employee Experience & Engagement
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives, surveys, recognition programs, and communication efforts.
- Help gather feedback and summarize insights related to employee experience, retention, and culture.
- Support initiatives that reinforce CFP’s values and strengthen connection between corporate teams and mill operations.
Policy, Compliance & Process Improvement
- Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies, SOPs, and internal resources.
- Support compliance‑related documentation, audits, or reporting activities as needed.
- Help identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve consistency across locations.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Projects
- Partner with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Safety, and Operations teams on cross‑functional HR initiatives.
- Support special projects related to HR systems, process documentation, reporting, or continuous improvement.
- Participate in HR team meetings and gain exposure to how HR supports business strategy.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Interest in HR operations, employee experience, and people programs within a corporate environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with HR systems is a plus but not required.

- Duration of internship will be from June 1st to August 14th.
- Paid up to 40 hours per week
