JOB SUMMARY
The Director Health Systems Compliance provides leadership and oversight for the health system compliance program, ensuring alignment with federal and state regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and industry best practices. Identify, assess, and prioritize compliance risks within clinical operations, revenue cycle activities, privacy and data protection, and other regulatory domains impacting the health system. Oversee compliance monitoring, auditing, and advisory activities designed to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Partner with operational leaders, physicians, and administrative teams to provide guidance on regulatory requirements, documentation standards, and compliant business practices. Support the development and implementation of corrective action plans related to compliance findings and regulatory reviews.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required
- Education
Master's Degree in Health Policy, Business, Health Care Administration, Accounting/Finance, Law or a related field.
- Experience
7 years experience in Healthcare leadership, Health System Operations, Health Care Compliance, Auditing, Consulting, Legal Operations or Financial Management.
Preferred
- Licenses and Certifications
(CHC) CERTIFIED HEALTHCARE COMPLIANC
(FACHE) AM COL OF HEALTHCARE EXECUTIVE or equivalent.
JOB DUTIES
- Assists in the University-wide risk assessment process to identify potential areas of Health System compliance vulnerabilities and critical and emerging risks.
- In conjunction with UTSW Office of Compliance, collaborates with Health System executives, department heads, and administrative and health system operations leaders and teams to assure the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement and assessment of the effectiveness of the seven elements of an effective compliance program for the Health System. Creates and implements processes to identify, manage and mitigate the Health System's compliance risks, reduce the potential adverse effects of non-compliance, and develop/assure that effective corrective actions are implemented as appropriate.
- Develops, initiates, maintains, and revises compliance-related standards, policies and procedures for the operations of the Health System and its related activities to prevent, detect, identify and mitigate illegal, unethical or improper conduct.
- Assures the effectiveness of the compliance program as applicable to health system matters as measured and evaluated per the USTW Office of Compliance and the UT System wide Compliance Program.
- Directs identified compliance issues to the appropriate existing channels for evaluation and resolution; consults with health system to improve the compliance of processes; coordinates and prepares reports and assessments as appropriate.
- Develops, prepares, and presents reports to the Office of Institutional Compliance, the health system leadership, the health system compliance committee, and other compliance committees as appropriate, pertaining to the Health System's compliance activities.
- Directs and supervises assigned personnel in the Health System compliance division including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation and training.
- Assist the UTSW Institutional Compliance Office as required
- Performs other duties as assigned.
