Our Ankeny, Iowa facility is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Auditor (3rd Shift) to join our team. In this role, you will inspect products and processes to ensure they meet company quality standards and customer specifications. The Quality Auditor works closely with production and quality teams to identify issues, support corrective actions, and help maintain consistent product quality throughout the manufacturing process during overnight operations.
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: The Quality Auditor assists in the design, implementation, and enforcement of the company’s quality control program to ensure products are manufactured to established standards. This role is key to maintaining product integrity, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

- Verify the work of operators engaged in inspection and testing activities to maintain continuous control over materials, parts, packaging, palletization, and labels in accordance with established quality requirements.
- Ensure Production maintains accurate traceability records as required by quality procedures.
- Verify that product labels are printed correctly with accurate information for each item.
- Review products placed on hold to confirm compliance with customer specifications and internal standards.
- Assist in resolving internal and external quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), capability studies, and Quality Management System activities.
- Randomly audit jobs with known issues and collaborate with Manufacturing Supervisors, Managers, and Engineering to drive improvements.
- Perform quality checks according to the control plan and document results accurately and promptly.
- Monitor the quality of parts packed into finished goods containers to maintain a Zero Defects standard.
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and color inspections as required by quality procedures.
- Audit machines daily to ensure proper setup and adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure processes operate in accordance with established quality standards, with a focus on achieving Zero Defects.
- Document audit findings and communicate results to appropriate supervisors.
- Place non-conforming products on hold following defined procedures and notify Quality and Production Supervisors of any rejects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, TASKS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to accurately distinguish product colors; must pass color vision test with “Normal” results.
- Ability to learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and standard procedures.
- Ability to write routine reports, forms, and correspondence clearly and accurately.
- Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with common office or quality software.
- Ability to verify product characteristics using required measurement tools and equipment.
- Ability to apply practical problem-solving and common sense to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to identify and address issues involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with team members and supervisors.
- Willingness to pursue ongoing training to develop and upgrade skills as required.
