Position Overview:
The Logistics Planner 2 plays a critical role in ensuring reliable, cost‑effective distribution of Linde products to customers. This position is responsible for daily distribution planning, bulk gas inventory management, and tactical system adjustments that support 100% supply reliability. Using Linde’s advanced planning tools, the Logistics Planner monitors plant inventories, driver and vehicle resources, customer demand, system alerts, and operational status to develop efficient distribution schedules. The role also collaborates closely with drivers, supervisors, and internal teams to uphold safety, quality, and regulatory standards while continuously identifying opportunities to optimize route efficiency and operational performance.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for distribution planning, system planning, and the execution of these plans.
Manage bulk gas inventories at Linde customers; fully utilize the computer-aided planning tools developed by Linde.
Develop a schedule for the daily distribution of products to customers that ensures 100% supply reliability at the lowest possible cost.
Notify management of any situations that may affect customer supply and seek appropriate action if additional resources are required.
Ensure that all deliveries comply with Linde's Quality Assurance program and all applicable regulatory programs. Initiate Quality Incidents and Near Misses when applicable.
Ensure that all planning supports Linde's safety goals.
Receive incoming telephone calls from customers and/or drivers and take appropriate actions in response.
Monitor incoming DriverChat messages from drivers and take appropriate actions in response.
Book drivers on tours, when applicable, in accordance with all contractual agreements and DOT regulations.
Review daily vehicle/driver resources to manage current demand. Review current plan vehicle utilization and driver utilization to determine ability to "share" resources within the overall system to maintain supply at the minimum total cost.
Review daily plant inventory levels, plant operating status, scheduled outages, key customer demand and distribution resource status to adjust operational plans at the tactical level.
Interact with drivers and driver supervisors on logistics matters. Author Fleet Effectiveness reports, when appropriate; designated Logistics Planners may review and respond to Trip Effectiveness reports.
Identify and modify inaccuracies in the data in Praxair's Advanced Logistics System (PALS) associated with customer, driver, and vehicle profiles and transactions.
Identify opportunities to improve volume per trip, reduce miles per trip, reduce deliveries to "full" tanks, and minimize driver delay hours using standardized reports and tools.
Provide weekly updates to the planning team on current considerations regarding customer demand, plant outages, and inventory levels for various products.
Provide feedback to driver supervisors on equipment utilization, driver schedules.
Qualifications:
9 months minimum experience planning in a busy Logistics department required, PLUS
2 Year college degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
Demonstrated success with Key Performance Indicators (such as dependability, QAR’s, call volume, driver complaints, etc)
Demonstrated success managing time and priorities for positive outcomes.
Good communication skills.

Salary:
Pay commensurate with experience. Open to salary range $57,750 - $84,700.
