PURPOSE
The Event Security Officer ensures a secure and safe environment for guests and Team Members by coordinating event preparations, managing access, and providing protection in our event space while providing excellent guest service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Event Preparation and Operations Support: Assist with all event day preparations and operations to ensure smooth execution.
- Access Control and Verification: Manage access to meeting rooms, backstage, and restricted areas by verifying tickets, credentials, wristbands, or event passes.
- Executive and VIP Protection: Safeguard executives, dignitaries, VIPs, and performers to ensure their security and well-being.
- Guest Services and Safety Assurance: Demonstrate excellent guest service skills, collaborate with team members to provide guest information and assistance, offer medical aid, and address safety or security issues that might endanger guests or team members.
- Incident Response and Reporting: Respond appropriately to incidents and make decisions under stress, focusing on de-escalation. Prepare clear, concise, and complete written reports as required by policy.
- Asset Protection and Loss Prevention: Exercise care in handling organizational assets to prevent loss or damage. May need to physically intervene to stop a suspect, prevent escape, or safeguard organizational resources.
- Confidentiality and Legal Compliance: Adhere to confidentiality policies regarding organizational information and provide testimony or statements for judicial and administrative proceedings as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- One (1) year experience within a high-volume customer service position with exceptional service skills.
- Experience and/or training in first responder, law enforcement, security or related field preferred.
- Training in PC’s, Windows operating systems and Microsoft Word preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Crowd Management & Monitoring: Ability to verify credentials/passes, manage guest flow in high-traffic areas, and maintain situational awareness to identify and address security concerns.
- Incident Response & De-escalation: Ability to remain calm under pressure, use de-escalation techniques, and make sound decisions during incidents.
- Safety & First Aid Readiness: Ability to identify hazards, provide initial medical assistance as needed, and coordinate emergency response.
- Asset Protection & Physical Intervention: Ability to safeguard organizational assets and, when appropriate, physically intervene to prevent loss, stop a suspect, or prevent escape.
- Guest Service & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to provide information, assistance, and resolve concerns professionally and courteously.
- Documentation, Technology & Compliance: Ability to write clear incident reports using PC/Windows/Microsoft Word skills while maintaining confidentiality and following policies/legal requirements (including providing statements/testimony when needed).
- VIP/Executive Protection: Ability to provide discreet, professional security support for executives, dignitaries, VIPs, and performers.
- Event Operations Support: Ability to assist with event-day setup, preparation, and operational tasks to ensure smooth execution.
