Here is what you will be doing:
- Responsible for all aspects of managing the kitchen and kitchen staff, ensuring the quality preparation of all menu items and proper handling/storage of all food items in accordance with standards.
- Coordinate the purchase of all food and develop menus, maintaining approved food costs and labor costs.
- Take physical inventory of specified food items for daily inventory.
- Ensure that staff report to work as scheduled; document any late or absent employees.
- Monitor performance of staff and ensure all procedures are completed to the department standards; rectify deficiencies with respective personnel.
Here is what you can bring to the role:
- Ability to apply supervisory skills to plan, organize, direct, coach, train and discipline, as necessary.
- Red Seal certification
- Previous management experience in a full service restaurant, banquet or hotel environment
- Ability to operate with stress, time constraints, physical activity and continuous walking.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts that may include days, evening, weekends, holidays.
