Description:
ATCO Frontec is seeking up to four Crew Leads to support the installation of a defence technology system in the Northwest Territories. This is a hands-on field leadership role in a remote northern construction environment. The Crew Lead will be responsible for leading small crews, supporting safe execution of work, and maintaining productivity and quality on site.
This role is suited to individuals with construction experience who are ready to step into a leadership position. Formal supervisory experience is considered an asset but is not required. This position provides an opportunity for motivated, hardworking individuals to gain practical leadership experience on a large-scale northern project.
Important Information:
- Possible rotation if desired, or additional compensation provided if on-site for the entire project duration. Accommodation and meals are provided, as well as daily travel to and from work site.
- The wage is $40/hour.
- Project completion bonus allotted to those who complete the duration of the project (May to October).
- This position is intended for non-local hires.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate daily activities of a small field crew
- Perform hands-on installation work including antennas, cabling, and related tasks
- Ensure work is completed safely and in compliance with site safety requirements
- Provide clear direction, guidance, and support to General Laborers
- Monitor work quality, progress, and productivity
- Communicate daily progress, issues, and safety concerns to Site Supervisors
- Promote a strong safety culture and professional work environment
Qualifications:
- Construction or related field experience
- Willingness and ability to lead and support a crew in a remote environment
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and accountability
- Physically capable of performing manual labour for extended shifts
- Comfortable working extended hours in northern conditions
Assets (Not Required):
- Experience with coaxial cable installation
- Experience with connector installation
- Electrical or technical installation experience
- Previous crew lead or supervisory experience
- Drivers License
