Part-Time Academic Instructor (HKIN 222:  Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries)

The Department of Human Kinetics invites applications for a part-time Academic Instructor to teach one section of HKIN 222: Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries during the Winter term of the 2026-2027 academic year {3 credits}. This section will be delivered in-person.  This position is subject to final budgetary approval. 

The calendar description is as follows:

A study of the injuries that occur in popular physical activities, including the nature, course, prevention, and non-medical management of these injuries.

We seek candidates with a background in Athletic Therapy. Previous teaching experience in this field is an asset.

Qualified applicants should hold a PhD or Master’s degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field. Preference will be given to individuals who have strong teaching and communication skills.

About the Department 

Human Kinetics students pursue a four-year integrated program that focuses on human body movement from a variety of perspectives (athletic therapy, biomechanics, disability, exercise physiology, gender, growth, health, history, motor control, philosophy, physical education, sociology, psychology). Students are well-prepared after graduation to enter the workforce, apply to professional programs (e.g. physiotherapy or occupational therapy) or medical school, or pursue graduate studies.
