Job Summary
Hill's Pet Nutrition Canada, a division of Colgate Palmolive, stands as a premier manufacturer of high-quality, science-based pet food. We are actively looking for an exceptionally skilled and strategic Sr. Brand Manager, Science Diet to become a valuable addition to our team. In this role, you will assume the responsibility of guiding the commercial team, working in tandem with our commercial team and key customers to formulate and implement brand plans that not only foster sustained growth but also enhance the overall health of the brand.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Brand Leadership and Financial Management:
Develops Brand Growth Plan and annual Brand Plan to achieve growth goals that are consistent with the company's global objectives, consumer insights, and customer\category dynamics. Flexibly adjusts plans to address evolving environments when necessary. Prepares and presents plans to leadership and\or executive teams.
Provide clear guidance to the commercial team on brand strategy, ensuring all activities align with brand plans.
Regularly monitor and analyze brand performance, including P&L health, market consumption data, and competitive activities to inform strategic pivots
As brand P&L owner, lead brand’s annual budgeting process and monthly CBP discipline to forecast sales volume, GTN and A&P spend. Manage the brands’ advertising and promotion (A&P) budget. Ensure timely and accurate submission of POs, invoice payment requests, and monthly accruals.
Lead and develop direct report through regular 1:1 check-ins, performance feedback, and oversight of work quality to foster professional growth
Shopper Marketing Leadership:
Work closely with retail partners and customer development teams to develop and execute effective shopper marketing programs that drive product visibility and sales
Media Management:
Contributes to development of a comprehensive media plan in collaboration with the agency to drive brand awareness, consideration and purchase. Develops creative assets to support media initiatives.
Monitor the execution and performance of media campaigns. Provide clear direction to the agency to implement corrective actions or plan optimizations.
Portfolio and Innovation Management:
Develop and execute plans for new product launches. Work closely with Global and US colleagues to to leverage innovation IMCs. Collaborate with the commercial team to ensure successful product launches for all customers.
Manage brand portfolio health through SKU rationalization and assortment recommendations. Ensure product information is maintained and up to date.
Education/ Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Brand Management, preferably within the consumer packaged goods industry or a similar fast-paced environment.
Expected Areas of Skill
Deep understanding of consumer packaged goods marketing, consumer media, project management and financial acumen.
Experience in planning and activating consumer marketing campaigns. Must have a strong technical knowledge of digital media and digital advertising strategy.
Mentorship and people development skills, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, agencies, and key stakeholders.
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent strategic thinking and analytical abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
Proficient computer skills in Google Business Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and ability to learn company specific tools & programs
Fluent in English; French an asset
Travel Requirements
Compensation
Salary Range $143,100.00 - $166,950.00 CAD per year
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to experience, education, skills and work or office location. In addition to your salary, Colgate-Palmolive Canada Inc. / Hill’s Pet Nutrition Canada Inc. offers a performance based bonus and competitive benefits package.
