Product Quality Analyst (Remote)
Department: Product
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Canada - Remote
Compensation: $70,000 - $85,000 / year
Description
Riipen is expanding its team! We are looking for a
Product Quality Analyst to help ensure the reliability, consistency, and overall quality of the Riipen platform.
This role sits within the
Product team and focuses on embedding quality throughout the product development lifecycle. While testing new features is an important part of the role, the focus goes beyond traditional QA. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure that features are well-designed, robust, and aligned with the broader product experience.
As a Product Quality Analyst, you will help the team identify risks, edge cases, and inconsistencies early in the development process. You will also look across the platform to identify patterns, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve how quality is built into our product and processes.
We are looking for someone who enjoys thinking about
how complex products behave as systems, and who is motivated by helping teams deliver reliable, well-crafted user experiences.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how quality is integrated into the development of a platform dedicated to eliminating barriers for emerging talent.
This role goes beyond traditional QA testing.
While you will perform hands-on testing, your focus is on
ensuring product quality across the entire development process. This includes contributing to requirements and design discussions, identifying systemic issues across the platform, and helping the team build features that are consistent, scalable, and resilient.
The ideal candidate enjoys thinking about
how products behave as systems, not just whether individual features work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual and exploratory testing to ensure new features and improvements function as intended and meet product expectations.
- Review product requirements, specifications, and designs to identify potential edge cases, risks, or inconsistencies before development begins.
- Develop test plans and testing strategies that cover key user flows, edge cases, and platform interactions.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to ensure new functionality aligns with existing product patterns and user experience standards.
- Identify, document, and communicate defects clearly while helping teams understand root causes and potential impacts.
- Look across releases and test outcomes to identify patterns, systemic issues, or recurring risks within the platform.
- Perform exploratory testing to uncover unexpected behaviours and usability concerns.
- Validate bug fixes and ensure regressions are avoided as the platform evolves.
- Contribute to improving quality processes, standards, and practices within the product development lifecycle.
- Help ensure that releases meet Riipen’s standards for reliability, usability, and product consistency.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
You may be a good fit if you have:
- Experience performing QA testing for web applications, including manual and exploratory testing.
- Strong ability to identify edge cases, inconsistencies, and system-level issues.
- Experience translating product requirements into structured test plans and testing strategies.
- Working familiarity with modern web application architectures.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers.
- Experience contributing to product requirements or design reviews from a quality perspective.
- Familiarity with exploratory testing techniques.
- Interest in improving quality processes and product development practices.
- Curiosity and attention to detail when evaluating how products behave from a user’s perspective.
- Ability to prioritize and self-manage while working in a remote environment.
- You are thoughtful, collaborative, and motivated by improving product quality.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience testing APIs or backend services (e.g., Postman or similar tools) is an asset.
- Experience working with test automation frameworks or QA tooling.
