RF Application Engineer (AI/ML) (West Coast)

Remcom is a trusted provider of advanced electromagnetic simulation and wireless propagation software. They are looking for an RF Application Engineer (AI/ML) to build simulation, automation, and hardware testing workflows for next-generation RF, wireless, and sensing systems.

Responsibilities:

• Build automation pipelines that replicate real-world wireless environments using electromagnetic simulation
• Integrate EM simulation outputs with network frameworks such as OpenAirInterface and ns-3
• Develop Python or C++ tools for simulation setup, execution, and data analysis
• Support testing and validation of RF systems using SDRs such as Ettus USRP, and other RF lab equipment (VNA, RF chambers, OTA)
• Develop digital twins and workflows to predict real-world RF system performance
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to understand system requirements and implement simulation solutions
• Use LLM development tools (Claude, Cursor) to rapidly architect and bridge physics engines to protocol stacks to automate workflows

Requirements:

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Physics
• Strong understanding of RF systems, wireless communications, and electromagnetics
• Programming experience in Python and C++
• Hands-on experience with spectrum analyzers and RF testing equipment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote, customer-facing work
• U.S. Citizenship Required
• Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as Wireless InSite, XFdtd, WaveFarer, or ANSYS HFSS, CST
• Experience with antenna design, PCB design, RFIC, circuit analysis and digital signal processing (DSP)
• Experience with CAD, GIS and Blender modeling
• Familiarity with Matlab toolboxes: 5G, radar, satellite systems, or Integrated Sensing and Communications
• Experience with software-defined radios
• Exposure to network simulation frameworks such as Sionna, ns-3
• Exposure with mobility simulators such as AirSim or SUMO
