Customer Service Associate

Painters Supply and Equipment Co. is a well-established leader in the coatings and painting industry, and they are seeking a Customer Service Associate to provide outstanding customer service in a dynamic retail environment. The role involves engaging with customers, managing phone orders, processing transactions, and assisting with paint mixing and order preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Provide professional, friendly customer service both face-to-face and over the phone, assisting customers with product selection, technical inquiries, and order placement
• Support outside sales representatives by providing product and order assistance, and proactively follow up with end-user customers to support sales growth
• Accurately process customer transactions using the POS system, ensuring all payments are handled responsibly and documentation is complete
• Maintain precise customer records, pricing, and account information, verifying order accuracy prior to fulfillment or delivery
• Receive, organize, and stock incoming merchandise, ensuring the inventory area remains organized and accessible
• Utilize handheld scanners and inventory software to manage stock levels, perform inventory counts, and reconcile discrepancies
• Assist with paint mixing by preparing orders using standard and custom formulas, maintaining safety and cleanliness standards
• Maintain the Color Room records, including tint and can usage, and document any mis-tints or non-conformance issues
• Support store operations by maintaining cleanliness, organizing work areas, and disposing of waste materials according to safety standards
• Participate in general store duties and cross-functional tasks as assigned by management

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency in computer systems, POS software, and inventory management tools
• Attention to detail
• Organizational skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Physically capable of lifting at least 50 pounds
• Comfortable working in an environment with industrial products and paint odors
• Experience in paint mixing or color matching
