Pure Power Engineering is a leading engineering firm specializing in the design and development of large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The role involves designing and generating detailed construction documents for utility-scale solar PV systems of 50MW or higher, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project specifications and safety standards are met.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and engineering utility-scale PV solar or battery energy storage systems of 50MW or higher, including detailed electrical system layouts and configurations
- Developing system layouts, selecting major equipment, and preparing detailed equipment specifications
- Creating single-line and three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and grounding designs that meet industry standards
- Sizing and routing MVAC and DC cables to optimize safety and efficiency
- Designing SCADA and communication systems to ensure reliable system monitoring and control
- Preparing construction drawings and documentation using AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and clarity
- Coordinating activities among clients, utilities, permit agencies, contractors, and internal teams to facilitate project progress
- Participating in construction administration, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting site visits as needed
- Managing project timelines effectively, prioritizing tasks, and reducing project complexity to enhance team productivity
- Ensuring all designs and projects comply with safety standards, codes, and regulations
- Performing other related tasks and supporting project teams as assigned to meet project goals and deadlines
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum of 3 years' experience designing commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, with a solid understanding of layer control, dimensioning, sheet sets, blocks, and file management
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety standards
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
- Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and adapt to changing priorities
- Effective technical writing skills to prepare clear documentation and reports
- Experience working with electrical design software such as PVsyst, CYMCAP, and Etap
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- NABCEP certification
- Over 6 years of relevant experience, especially in designing energy storage systems
