Crossing Hurdles is seeking a Power Electronics Simulation Engineer to design and optimize power circuits. The role involves developing SPICE netlists and executing simulations to validate electrical performance.
Responsibilities:
- Design analog and power circuits based on detailed functional specifications
- Select appropriate components using real-world datasheets and parametric data
- Develop, modify, and optimize SPICE netlists using tools such as ngspice, Xyce, LTspice, or PSpice
- Configure and execute simulations to evaluate ripple, efficiency, loop stability, and transient performance
- Define and enforce quantitative pass/fail validation criteria across simulated designs
- Iterate designs based on simulation feedback, optimizing for measurable electrical performance
- Leverage vendor reference designs and SPICE models while understanding modeling assumptions and limitations
Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience in analog or power electronics design
- Strong expertise in power converter topologies (buck, boost, LDO, and related architectures)
- Advanced proficiency in SPICE simulation environments and netlist modeling
- Demonstrated ability to analyze ripple, efficiency, loop stability, and transient response
- Strong component selection capabilities using datasheets and vendor documentation
- Solid understanding of control theory fundamentals and loop compensation techniques
- Experience scripting and automating simulation testbenches
