As the Child Care Program Director, you will plan, develop, administer, and evaluate off-site before-and-after-school child care. You will provide leadership and direction for staff and children, ensure positive communication with parents, children, schools, and other staff, practice risk management, and develop positive community relations.
If hired, you will manage childcare programs that serve our community with a variety of activity options to explore, develop interests, and talents of the youth with a focus on safety, health, social growth, and academic enhancement for children to have fun, grow and thrive in our care.

Childcare Program Director Job Description
Position Summary
The Child Care Program Director provides leadership, direction, and vision to the day-to-day operations of child care sites. Plans, develops, administers and evaluates off-site before-and-after school child care. Provides high quality programming and excellent customer service to all participants focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Key Responsibilities
· Ensure all assigned Child Care sites are providing high quality care following curriculum on a daily basis.
· Ensure all Child Care sites maintain Washington State Child Care Licensing and designated staffing ratios at all times.
· Communicate and maintain a healthy professional relationship with DCYF representatives.
· Design, implement, evaluate and update programs, activities, and events to maintain fun, creative and educational program.
· Assist the Sr. Program Director and Executive directors in seeking and expanding Y programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operation initiatives.
· May develop or assist in the marketing and distribution of program information, organize and schedule program registrations.
· Coordinate use of facilities for program activities and events.
· Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program.
· Support positive professional relationships with school staff and parents.
· Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations.
· Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
· Recruit, screen, interview, hire, train, mentor, schedule and staff.
· Supervise and support Before & After School Lead Teachers and Teachers as assigned.
· Work in collaboration with senior management to review and evaluate staff performance.
· Develop and implement strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
· Review, approve, and submit staff time cards to payroll department per schedule.
· Schedule shifts and process time off request forms for staff.
· Provide all departmental staff with professional development.
· Ensure that all mandatory training is scheduled and funded.
· Support efforts to manage the approved budget.
· Research and purchase new equipment.
· Utilize purchase orders, check requests and expense reports per association policies. Use a system to track and monitor ongoing expenses, purchase orders and inventory.
· Meet performance measurement by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.
· Assist staff leadership team in reaching campaign goals through recruiting campaigners, making personal asks and supporting branch events.
· Support site directors' efforts to facilitate Annual Campaigns at each site.
· Embraces and actively promotes an inclusive and equitable work environment.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
· Two years' related experience.
· Thirty or more college quarter credits of Early Childhood Education, Child Development, and Elementary Education OR possess equivalent educational background in courses relating to childcare (must be able to provide transcripts).
· Demonstrated in-depth knowledge is preferred and/or a degree in field of work.
· Experience in the development, delivery, and management of child care programs or equivalent, with full understanding of child care regulations and WA State licensing requirements.
· Positive attitude and previous experience working with children and diverse populations.
· Demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, computer knowledge, and file maintenance.
· Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.
· Must complete a TB Skin test or X-ray prior to employment.
· Must obtain and maintain a WA State Food Worker Permit.
· Complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day. Complete other online and in-person training as required.
