Electrical Engineers (All Levels) – Distribution Transformer Design

CTS International is actively seeking Electrical Engineers at various levels to support their client’s engineering team specializing in distribution transformer design. These remote contract roles involve working on high-impact projects that contribute to essential power infrastructure across North America.

Responsibilities:

• Design transformer electrical configurations (delta, wye, series/parallel) up to 35kV
• Perform calculations for losses, impedance, voltage regulation, and BIL
• Specify transformer accessories including tap changers, bushings, arrestors
• Develop electrical BOMs, nameplate data, and wiring/connection diagrams
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, CSA, ANSI, IEC, and DOE standards
• Support product validation including dielectric, impulse, and short-circuit testing
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 5–10+ years of experience in electrical distribution systems or transformer design
• Proficiency with CAD, FEA, and electrical simulation tools
• Strong working knowledge of IEEE, CSA, ANSI, IEC, and DOE standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
