Senior Software Engineer, Google Meet, Web Application, Performance

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 5 years of experience with software development in CSS, HTML and TypeScript.
• 3 years of experience with front-end and user interface development.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software product.
• 1 year of experience in software performance analysis.
• Experience in infrastructure design and system architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.
• Experience with performance and reliability investigations, including identifying, designing, implementing, and landing performance and reliability improvements.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Build performance tracing and debugging tools.
• Identify bottlenecks in HTML parsing, CSS construction, JavaScript module loading, dependency trees, and execution.
• Utilize browser heap profilers to identify and resolve memory leaks in long-lived sessions.
• Implement advanced loading strategies involving large-scale infrastructure changes.
• Optimize code-splitting strategies, tree-shaking efficiency, and dependency audits to minimize the "JavaScript tax."
