One of a network of provincial community health centres, the NorWest Community Health Centres is a community based, non-profit organization funded by Ontario Health, emphasizing access to primary health care and prevention programs and services.
We are currently seeking a 1.0 FTE Therapist to join our Community Wellness Hubs team. This position provides evidence-based, trauma-informed counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan, within a community-based primary care setting.
The successful candidate will deliver culturally responsive, equity-focused care to diverse populations, including Indigenous, Black, newcomer, uninsured, 2SLGBTQIA+, under-housed, and other equity-deserving communities. The therapist will collaborate with primary care providers, nurses, system navigators, and community partners to support integrated, team-based care.
The position has a competitive salary, the Health Care of Ontario’s Pension Plan and an excellent group health benefits package.
The salary range for this position is from $69,942 to $80,765 per year for Masters Level. We currently do not use AI to screen resumes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, or related field.
• Current registration in good standing with one of the following regulatory bodies: College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), or the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ clinical experience providing psychotherapy, including experience with complex mental health presentations.
• Experience working in a community-based, outpatient, or primary care mental health setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-informed practice, anti-oppressive frameworks, and culturally responsive care.
• Awareness and sensitivity to socio-economic and cultural issues affecting 2SLGBTQI+, Indigenous, Black, newcomer, uninsured, and other equity-deserving populations.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer applications.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to an interprofessional team.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle; ability to travel between sites as required.
