Vice President of Engineering

Sectech Solutions is an AI and automation company focused on solving complex problems in heavy industries. They are seeking a hands-on VP of Engineering to lead technical strategy, manage the entire tech stack, and build a high-performing engineering team for their platform.

Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end platform architecture, from edge device connectivity and sensor data ingestion to cloud infrastructure and enterprise system integration
• Lead technical strategy and architecture decisions, ensuring the development of a reliable, scalable, and secure platform for mission-critical industrial applications
• Work closely with the product and design teams to translate vision into a technical roadmap, managing the entire development lifecycle from concept to launch
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, deeply technical engineering team in a flat, highly accountable organization
• Act as a key technical voice for the company, engaging with investors, speaking at conferences, and demoing the product to external stakeholders
• Remain hands-on and in the weeds with the engineering team, guiding development practices and ensuring technical excellence across the stack

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in senior engineering leadership roles (e.g., VP, CTO, Head of Engineering)
• Held an engineering leadership position in heavy industry (e.g., manufacturing, defense, energy) or with a company that provides services to heavy industry companies (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, ABB)
• Experience building products 0- to- 1 in a startup environment (founder experience or VC-backed company)
• Owned technical architecture decisions for complex, distributed systems
• Experience guiding product direction, along with engineering decisions
• Experience building high-fidelity data and simulation platforms
• Extensive experience with IoT, Edge computing, and sensor-driven systems
