Redfin is revolutionizing the real estate industry by utilizing data, software, and innovative design. As a Staff Software Engineer in the Platform Engineering organization, you will enhance the frontend infrastructure and integrate generative AI to improve developer productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve core frontend infrastructure: build tooling, testing, and CI/CD pipelines
- Design and build generative AI tooling to accelerate frontend code creation, testing, and deployment
- Drive engineering productivity by reducing toil, eliminating friction, and establishing scalable best practices across multiple frontend teams
- Research and champion forward-thinking solutions for frontend developer experience, leveraging or introducing new technologies as needed
- Iterate and Execute on technical strategy with stakeholders to identify pain points and propose long-term solutions for platform infrastructure
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in frontend or full-stack development, specializing in developer tooling, platform engineering, or infrastructure, with deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and React
- Familiarity with leveraging and optimizing testing frameworks including: Jest, Vitest, Playwright, visual regression testing
- Familiarity with building/maintaining scalable CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar
- Experience leading the integration of Rust-based tools into existing JS frameworks
- Comfortable leading the strategy and development of a new framework
- Proven capabilities of working with multiple stakeholders with differing opinions
- Implemented team-wide AI tools to speed up development and debug processes and improve scalability for front end development
- Familiarity with containerized workflows (Docker), observability/monitoring tools (Datadog or similar), and AI code generation tools (e.g., Claude Code)
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguity, communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, drive technical consensus across teams, and manage priorities within large, complex codebases
