About this roleFounded in 1896, Saint Joseph is a parochial school (Pre-K through 8th) located in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. As a primary ministry of Saint Joseph’s Church, our goal is to provide a disciplined, nurturing environment guided by Catholic values, where students grow through rigorous academic excellence, faith and moral formation, and opportunities for service and leadership.
St. Joseph’s School is seeking a principal to continue its history of commitment to quality Catholic Education and forming disciples with a hope-filled vision for the future. The principal should have a strong Catholic identity, collaborative spirit, and strategic vision. This position has the immediate responsibility for implementing the mission of St. Joseph’s School in its regular operations. The principal must have the ability to relate well with children, parents, teachers, and the community, honor the rich traditions and culture of Catholic education, and work collaboratively with the Pastor to lead the school successfully in its mission:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Practicing Catholic for whom loyalty to Christ, His people, and the Church are of first importance and hold a philosophy of education consistent with this Catholic conviction
• Master’s Degree, Able to Meet LA Non-Public Requirements for Administration
• Five Years Minimum Experience in Education, Preferably in Catholic Schools
• Demonstrated Leadership Ability, Preferably in Catholic Education
• Must be Available to start on or before July 1, 2026
