Henry Schein One is the global leader in dental management software, seeking an experienced Director of Engineering to lead their engineering efforts across Dentrix Enterprise and axiUm Academic. The role involves overseeing development teams, driving innovation, and ensuring product quality while fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and advance multiple development teams in the US and Canada, aligning their efforts with product strategy
- Drive clarity, accountability, and alignment through effective communication of goals, priorities, and status to team members and stakeholders
- Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and career development to attract and retain top engineering talent
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Promote engineering excellence within your domain while ensuring product security, compliance, quality, and reliability
- Improve developer experience for scalable, continuous delivery
- Mentor and inspire team leaders and their teams
- Collaborate with senior leadership on vision and strategy
Requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience with a minimum of 3-5 years leading high performing software engineering teams
- Proven impact in senior engineering leadership roles
- Proven success leading distributed or hybrid engineering teams at scale
- Excellent knowledge of SDLC, including Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices
- Ability to lead through influence, resolve conflict, and build consensus across functions
- Clear, empathetic communicator who thrives in collaborative environments
- Analytical, strategic thinker who can balance tech debt, innovation, and delivery
