Regional Applications Engineer - Live Events

Daktronics is a leading company in the design and manufacturing of digital LED display technology and audio systems. The Regional Applications Engineer role involves providing essential support across sales and services, optimizing customer control systems, and acting as a liaison between clients and Daktronics to ensure a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities:

• Act as an expert in control systems, explain best practices, and topic-specific assistance as needed
• Build client relationships and manage those relationships to create trust and confidence, provide proactive support, and assist with escalated support for complex technical issues
• Effectively function as a technical control system liaison between the client and Daktronics, especially product management
• Assist services groups including account managers & tech support with customer inquiries regarding workflow or operation
• Apply market, production, and sports knowledge to ensure a positive customer experience
• Sales of professional services or control system enhancements directly to our customers
• These can include software, integrations, and custom services solutions
• Additional sales opportunities include equipment sales of control system upgrades, Live Products, Clip Players, and Individual Control Components
• Assisting internal customers (sales, project management/project team, control system specialist trainers, design & development, field service, and creative services) on new large-scale projects
• Activities include presentations, demos, consulting, advising, pricing, installation support and preliminary designs for LED display control systems
• Assist external customers to create the experience they desire for their audiences
• Utilize technology and technique to help our customers achieve their vision and production goals
• Function as an expert technical advisor, determine the client's needs, fill gaps with appropriate services and products to construct a Daktronics solution
• Support internal customers/services by ensuring a shared understanding of customer vision

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering technology, computer engineering technology, technical management, or a technical or business field
• You will be the Daktronics expert consultant with an in-depth understanding of Daktronics products' capabilities, features, functions, and operation to best meet the customer's vision. Product knowledge will include video systems, electronic message centers, LCD displays, direct view LED displays, and frontend control equipment for all product offerings
• You will work effectively as a team member. Work with limited daily supervision
• Strong Communication skills including verbal and written skills, interpersonal, ability to develop and present winning presentations of Daktronics products and services. Fluent in English, written and verbal
• Experience selling product values and features. Must demonstrate ability to successfully negotiate price without being the lowest price supplier
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment. Represent Daktronics confidently and professionally
• Motivated and a team-player. Initiative to solve problems and seek improvement. Goal-oriented with proven leadership capability
• Become knowledgeable and follow Daktronics policies, processes, and procedures
• Travel to customer sites and offices and build a strong relationship. Build and maintain customer relationships, position yourself as an expert and trusted technical advisor
• Ability to work from a home office location
• Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver's license. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Driving Eligibility Requirements. Motor vehicle records will be checked
• Fluent in English, written and verbal
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older

• Prefer experience with control room, live event production, and programmatic scheduling
• Knowledge of Daktronics products, hardware, and software used in various markets is beneficial
• Will need to be accessible after regular business hours, which may include multiple time zones for meetings
