Senior Android Engineer

Nestmed is revolutionizing healthcare documentation with an AI platform designed to give clinicians their time back. They are seeking a Senior Android Engineer to own and evolve their mobile experience, focusing on real-time voice capture and offline-first architecture to enhance the workflow of clinicians in the field.

Responsibilities:

• Own and evolve the mobile experience for clinicians documenting care in patients' homes
• Handle real-time voice capture and background audio processing during patient visits
• Maintain reliability across hours-long recording sessions with foreground services
• Implement offline-first architecture with intelligent sync for clinicians in low-connectivity environments
• Develop a modern UI built with Jetpack Compose for documentation review and editing
• Integrate system-level features for enterprise MDM deployments
• Optimize performance across diverse Android devices and OS versions
• Ship features that improve the daily workflow of thousands of clinicians
• Architect reliable background services for audio capture
• Reduce app-related support issues through improved stability and error handling
• Establish Android engineering best practices as the mobile team grows
• Contribute to technical decisions shaping the mobile platform roadmap

Requirements:

• 4+ years of professional Android development experience
• Strong Kotlin expertise, including coroutines and flows
• Proven experience with foreground services—lifecycle management, notification requirements, and long-running reliability
• Proficiency with Jetpack Compose, including custom layouts and state management
• Experience with WorkManager for scheduled and persistent tasks
• Solid understanding of Android architecture components and dependency injection
• Care deeply about UX, reliability, and real-world usage in the field
• Comfortable working quickly and iterating based on clinician feedback
• Experience with audio processing or real-time media on Android
• Healthcare or regulated industry background
• Offline-first architecture and sync conflict resolution
• Previous startup experience (seed to Series C)
• Strong testing strategies and CI/CD for mobile
• MDM/enterprise mobility experience
