AI & Data Engineering Intern

Elsevier is a global leader in information and analytics, and they are seeking an AI & Data Engineering Intern to contribute to the advancement of data engineering and AI capabilities. This internship will provide hands-on experience in developing data pipelines, enhancing AI-driven workflows, and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Support the development and improvement of data pipelines and automated processes
• Assist in building and testing AI‑enabled tools and workflows
• Help enhance internal data tools and systems
• Contribute to data quality, performance, and automation efforts
• Review and maintain data quality across systems
• Work with team members to refine data workflows
• Participate in team discussions, planning sessions, and collaborative activities
• Support documentation and simple reporting as needed

Requirements:

• Be currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, or a related field of study with a graduation date of May 2027
• Demonstrate understanding of AI and data engineering concepts
• Display familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and GitHub Copilot
• Possess proficiency in Python and agile development practices
• Have experience with data processing, analysis, and familiarity with big data tools and cloud platforms such as AWS and Snowflake
• Possess effective communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and concisely
• Be a natural problem solver, able to work independently, collaboratively with team members, and lead project teams to resolve issues
