Accountabilities
Patient Care Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments, including but not limited to Histories, Physical exams, Daily Progress Notes and Discharge Summaries.
- Develop Differential Diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, medications, and therapies.
- Document all clinical encounters and procedures.
- Conduct Daily Rounds, do oral presentations, and perform transition of care.
- Recognize and manage urgent/emergent care situations.
- Contribute to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide patient care in the inpatient and outpatient continually Clinic as well as in the specialty care office practices.
- Provide Chronic Disease management and preventive care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Teaching & Supervision
- Teach and supervise medical students and junior residents.
Patient Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all ACGME rules & regulations, especially duty hour regulations and safety protocols.
- Engage in quality improvement and reporting activities.
Scholarly Activities
- Participate in research and quality improvement projects.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Fulfill residency-specific requirements as directed by the Program Director.
Minimum Requirements
- Medical Degree from an accredited LCME, COCA, or ECFMG-certified institution.
- Completion of ACGME-required pre-requisite training.
Certifications & Licenses
- Temporary or Permanent Georgia Medical License.
- DEA Registration.
- Advanced Life Support Training (ACLS, ATLS, PALS) as required.
