Optum is dedicated to simplifying the logistics of complex workforce health programs. The Sr. DevOps Engineer - Windows On-Prem will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated build and release structures, and deployment pipelines to support the mission of improving health services for military and Veterans.
Responsibilities:
- Support a learning organization model through coaching, training, and mentorship
- Adapt as necessary for unintended consequences of this change initiative and one that understands the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team
- Work in a DevOps team environment on both tactical and strategic assignments
- Handle manual work while figuring out how to automate it
- Take a project from inception to production and lead a team of variant applications to successful automated deployments
Requirements:
- 6+ years of IT experience on web-based products
- 4+ years of experience with Powershell scripting language
- 2+ years of experience with DevOps teams, Agile methodologies and Test Driven Development
- 2+ years of experience with continuous integration tools (like Octopus Deploy)
- 2+ years of experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform
- 2+ years of experience with Azure, GitHub, and Gitlab
- Experience leveraging AI tools in the software development lifecycle in order to improve quality and efficiency
- Proven knowledge of container architectures (Docker, Kubernetes)

- 2+ years of experience working on large scale, multiple team projects
- 1+ years of experience with programmatic interaction with a relational database, preferably a recent version of SQL Server
- Experience in at least one high level programming language such as C, C#, C, or Java
- Experience with modern source control systems (i.e.. Git)
- Proven solid understanding of database technologies Mysql, MSSQL, Oracle) with database change automation experience
- Infrastructure as code experience with some programming background either as a release engineer or developer
- Proven self-starter and willing to take on new responsibilities that have not been clearly defined
