Tier 3 Network Systems Engineer (Remote)

DataBank Holdings Ltd. is a leading provider of enterprise-class data center, cloud, and interconnection services. The Tier 3 Network Systems Engineer will provide system management and monitoring to meet SLA requirements and assist in resolving networking, Windows, Linux, Cloud, and Application issues.

Responsibilities:

• Routing & switching, Firewall, Load Balancing, IDS/IPS, and DDoS
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to virtual platforms and virtual infrastructure including vCenter and vCloud Director
• Perform maintenance activities within the VMware platform
• Management and operations of Microsoft Windows-based server systems and associated technologies including server clustering, DHCP, DNS and WINS and DFS
• Troubleshoot network issues related to routing, firewalls and Load Balancers
• Helping create and maintain team standards, policies and procedures
• Configuration and management of Microsoft Active Directory, including implementations and their interoperability with disparate directory structures and security methods in a business enterprise environment
• Troubleshooting issues related to web services, specifically IIS, Apache, NGINX and ColdFusion
• Troubleshooting issues related to Databases such as MySQL and MSSQL
• Provide technical assistance to DataBanks customers for the support and management of Windows and Linux Servers
• Provide proactive monitoring for all production systems in an enterprise environment to include those related to performance, failed hardware, alert conditions and other issues that affect business operations in a production environment
• Identify and implement efficiencies to daily processes and procedures
• Responsibilities will include participation in an 'on call' rotation and provide after-hours availability
• Assist in troubleshooting issues with Backup and Restore utilizing Veeam, Commvault, Zerto and Avamar
• Perform and Document Decommissioning of Physical and Virtual servers and firewalls
• May perform other duties and responsibilities that management deems necessary from time to time

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience required in the Information Technology field
• Experience with OSPF, BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, STP, MPLS, DMVPN, VPN, IPSEC, DNS, DHCP, NTP
• Experience managing large scale Layer 2/3 topologies
• Experience with (JunOS, MX, QFX, EX)(Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Nexus 4k/7k, FEX, 6500, 7600)
• Experience with Firewalls, Load Balancers, DDOS, IPSec and IDS/IPS
• Experience with Cisco ASA (5515 -5585 with SSPx), ASAv (5,10,30,50), Palo Alto( 800/3000/5000 series
• Experience with F5 server load balancing: LTM and DNS
• Experience working Windows and or Linux platforms; ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues at both an application and Server OS level
• Experience and working knowledge of Virtual infrastructure technologies, specifically VMware
• Experience managing and configuring Active Directory including, replication services, group policies and folder redirection
• Scripting experience with Python, PHP or PowerShell is recommended
• Experience with Web Applications (IIS, Apache, PHP, NGINX, etc)
• Fundamental Backup and Patching knowledge
• Fundamental Monitoring Knowledge
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving and organizational skills

• Project management oriented with ability to lead project planning through implementation
• Strong written and verbal skills, comfortable preparing documentation of procedures and guidelines

• Experience with Sciencelogic, Zabbix a plus, or other monitoring platforms such as Libre or NAGIOS
• Experience with Ansible a plus
• Occasional travel may be required
