Data Engineer

Vertex Solutions Inc. is a fast growing Insurance brokerage company looking to expand their data and analytics team. They are seeking a talented Data Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, data transformation, and data models.

Responsibilities:

• Perform data analysis to understand business requirements and design solutions to meet needs
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration and analysis
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions
• Ensure data quality and integrity by performing data cleansing, validation, and standardization
• Assist with maintaining database architecture and data processing systems
• Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• 4 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role
• Strong SQL background and ability to write efficient queries
• Experience with general insuretech and agency management solutions
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with Git, dbt and snowflake
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Ability to work remotely, independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Experience with machine learning and data visualization tools
