They are seeking a Lead Cloud Platform Engineer to design and manage AWS cloud infrastructure for mission-critical applications, focusing on secure and scalable cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement secure, scalable AWS cloud architecture that strengthens platform reliability and performance
- Drive IaC, automated provisioning, and CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery and reduce manual effort
- Lead containerization, orchestration, and DevOps practices to improve deployment speed and consistency
- Implement monitoring, logging, and optimization strategies to enhance system visibility and reduce downtime
- Architect high‑availability, networking, and disaster recovery solutions that ensure mission continuity
- Define governance, security controls, and platform standards to improve compliance and operational excellence
- Partner with application teams and mentor engineers to elevate overall cloud engineering capability
- Maintain clear platform documentation to support efficient operations and knowledge transfer
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of hands‑on experience with AWS services and cloud architecture
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or platform engineering
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure‑as‑Code and automation tools
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and secure cloud architectures
- US Citizenship
- Master's degree in a related technical field and/or experience with scientific or meteorological data applications
- Experience with geospatial or advanced browser‑based visualization technologies (WebGL, Canvas, GIS tools)
- Familiarity with meteorological data formats
- Knowledge of microservices, containerization, cloud cost optimization, and multi‑region deployments
