Ulteig is currently seeking talented and motivated Design Engineer - Studies level engineering candidates to support power system studies within the renewable energy and power markets. The design engineer will perform system studies and provide quality support to generator owners in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform system studies such as transient over voltage, transient recovery voltage, insulation coordination, and harmonics utilizing PSCAD, ETAP, EasyPower, and other software packages
- Provide quality support to wind, solar, and BESS generator owners in system studies in a fast-paced environment
- Utilize python scripting for implementing efficient processes
- Independently completes assigned tasks required and actively manages individual workload
- Identify improvements and implement them, utilizing support from others
- Ask questions to team when learning new skills
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, clients and external agencies
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required, ABET accredited program, or equivalent required
- A minimum of 2 years of working experience, with at least 1 years of experience directly related to power systems
- Experience in PSCAD is required
- Independently completes assigned tasks required and actively manages individual workload
- EIT status or working towards EIT status
- Must be a self-starter and willing to identify improvements and implement them, utilizing support from others
- Must be comfortable asking questions to team when learning new skills
- Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude
- Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, clients and external agencies
- Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S
- Experience in ETAP and EasyPower is preferred
- Experience with programming in Python is preferred
