Software Engineer - EDI & Doc Management

Maximus is currently seeking a Software Engineer who will provide expertise in the areas of file transfer and EDI translations. The role involves configuring, supporting, and maintaining environments and procedures for all supported applications.

Responsibilities:

• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code
• Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
• Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures
• Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
• A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways
• Able to work in fast paced environments and have understanding of programming environments
• Proactive, can-do attitude whose actions work toward continuous process improvement
• Superior analytical, troubleshooting, knowledge sharing, collaborative and mentoring skills
• Superior troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
• Must be able to write effective technical documents and reports as a primary focus of daily duties

• Must exercise effective judgment and follow established procedures in support of production, 24x7, and other critical environments
• Experience within supporting one or more of the following application instances desired: Axway SecureTransport, IBM Sterling Gentran and IBM’s ITXA
• Proficiency in vb/csharp .net and Python scripting
• Systems engineer will be responsible for configuring multiple file transfer and EDI environments
• Responsible for out of hours support for any failed processing
• Responsible for high level design and implementation around file transfer jobs and service stability
• Act as a technical SME during escalated P1/P2 issues
• Develop any new application configuration changes and processes
• Coordinate w/ Systems PM when developing any new configuration changes requests

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study and 3+ years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
• A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways
• Able to work in fast paced environments and have understanding of programming environments

• Experience supporting all phases of the system development life cycle including development, testing, QA and production
• Must exercise effective judgment and follow established procedures in support of production, 24x7, and other critical environments
• Experience within supporting one or more of the following application instances desired: Axway SecureTransport, IBM Sterling Gentran and IBM's ITXA
• Proficiency in vb/csharp .net and Python scripting
• Familiar with Pentaho, Microsoft IIS administration, SFTP and FTP protocols
• Knowledge of government sponsored health care programs and systems
