
JOB SUMMARY:
Learn to prepare and buildup a variety of wire harness components and prepare harness for use in various
assemblies.
To prepare, assemble, troubleshoot and rework wire harness assemblies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepares and runs wire cutting machine to create kits for assemblies.
· Lays out, routes, and connects wiring to various connectors, switches, plugs, and a variety of gauges and
dials using harness assembly boards.
· Maintain close mental and visual attention making assemblies, soldering, splicing, and checking
continuity.
· Responsible only for own work.
· Perform other related duties as required
· Works from blueprints, planning, diagrams, schematics and assembly drawings to assemble a variety of
wire harnesses and assemblies on boards/mylars and/or furniture assembly.
· Builds up and reworks various assemblies and wire harnesses using installation jigs, routing boards, etc.
· Using the circuit analyzer, test board and ohmmeter, checks harnesses for continuity and accuracy and
performs rework as necessary to include reworking installed panels.
· Uses a variety of simple hand tools such as wire strippers, various pliers, strap pullers, soldering irons,
crimpers, and some measuring instruments.
· Responsible only for own work with the ability to train others on wire assembly operations.
Works from department schedules, blueprints, engineering orders, diagrams, schematics and assembly drawings to assemble a variety of wire harnesses and assemblies on boards/mylars and/or furniture assembly.
Coordinates with interior design, interior planning, purchasing, and other appropriate areas to ensure proper work is being performed.
Plans and performs any unique or first-time interior fabrication work. May assist in pattern development
Assists supervision in meeting production schedules by scheduling workflow to meet production schedules. ·
Works and track part shortages utilizing various software with other departments to get necessary parts to the assemblers in a timely manner.
Troubleshoots as pending issues and works to resolve them with their team to ensure on time delivery.
Assures proper operation of all equipment and ensures workers are compliant with personal protective gear required.
Uses a variety of hand and power tools/equipment and basic measuring instruments.
Train current and new employees as required.
Responsible for own work and work of other wire harness assembler in the department.
EDUCATION:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification and Textron
Aviation’s blueprint reading class preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
· 2+ years of wire harness assembly experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions with exposure to dust, noise, heat, fumes and liquids. Safety shoes and protective clothing could be required.
