K2United is an organization that provides advisory services in cyber risk management and online education for workforce readiness. The Lead DevOps/Cloud Engineer will lead technical direction in DevOps and cloud engineering, build and evolve CI/CD pipelines, and ensure platform reliability and security in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design and operate CI/CD pipelines that enable fast, reliable deployments
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Standardize deployment patterns and eliminate manual processes
- Engineer scalable, high-availability cloud environments
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management
- Optimize cost, performance, and system reliability
- Integrate security scanning, controls, and auditability into pipelines
- Support environments aligned to NIST 800-171 and similar frameworks
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability
- Lead root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes
- Support backup, recovery, and resilience practices
- Set and enforce engineering standards
- Mentor engineers and improve team capability
- Drive clarity, ownership, and accountability through how work is executed
Requirements:
- 7–10+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud, or infrastructure engineering
- Strong hands-on experience designing and operating cloud environments (AWS required)
- Deep experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Proven ability to build and operate CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
- Strong Linux systems experience in cloud environments
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues without relying on escalation
- Experience mentoring other engineers and improving team capability through hands-on guidance
- Comfortable working in a highly accountable environment where priorities and outcomes are explicit
- GovCloud/Azure experience
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments (NIST, FedRAMP, etc.)
