Nexus Technologies LLC is a managed IT services provider that is expanding its offerings in cloud and cybersecurity. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work with clients to optimize their cloud infrastructure and deliver innovative solutions while collaborating with a diverse team of technology experts.
Responsibilities:
- Design and guide cloud architecture decisions (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud), including landing zones, network topology, identity, governance, and resiliency patterns
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and policy-as-code approaches (e.g., Terraform/Bicep/CloudFormation, Azure Policy/AWS Config/GCP Org Policy) aligned to cloud architecture standards
- Implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions to ensure health and performance of customer systems using tools like LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, and others
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and related services
- Architect and implement cloud solutions using reference architectures and core services across Azure/AWS/GCP (networking, compute, storage, databases, integration, and observability), selecting PaaS where appropriate to meet security, availability, and cost requirements
- Architect, deploy, and support multi-platform VDI solutions including Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365 Desktop, Amazon Workspaces, Citrix Desktop as a Service, and others
- Implement and maintain security best practices across all aspects of the infrastructure and have proven experience with MDR, XDR, SIEM, Zero Trust, Endpoint Protection, and cloud-based security tools
- Provide prompt, efficient, detailed, customer-oriented service to NexusTek customers
- Actively drive projects to successful outcomes by engaging with customers and other NexusTek support teams as a cloud architect and lead engineer
- Assist in the transformation of architecture and technologies, driving adoption of leading-edge cloud services
- Work with the project management team and other customer support teams to ensure consistent and high-quality deliverables
- Actively seek solutions to customer needs, communicate trends to leadership, and suggest innovative solutions to optimize and scale environments
- Assist with customer communication during critical launches and support events
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented systems and processes
- Participate in sales discovery to understand customer objectives, validate requirements, and shape cloud solution options, scope, and approach
- Review and provide input on Statements of Work (SOWs) for technical accuracy, feasibility, assumptions, risks, and acceptance criteria; support internal approval as needed
- Partner with Sales and Project Management to drive the engagement from pre-sale through delivery—owning the technical win and ensuring the project is set up for a successful outcome
- Lead customer discussions and articulate the alignment of technology and business objectives
- Assist in driving the project management process and maintain familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and Scrum methodologies
- Work in a fast-paced support environment and demonstrate just-in-time learning capabilities
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years working directly with, or in support of Cloud technologies (Azure/ AWS / GCP)
- Demonstrated knowledge of cloud architecture and platform engineering principles (governance, landing zones, identity/network design, reliability, observability, and IaC/automation)
- Practical experience migrating applications, services and/or servers from on-premises/data centers/private cloud to hybrid/public cloud
- Experience with configuration management, orchestration, and automation (Nerdio, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
- Experience architecting, deploying, migrating, and supporting modern workplace technologies and large-scale VDI environments (AVD, Citrix Cloud, Amazon, Horizon, RDS)
- Demonstrated experience with on-premises, private cloud virtualization technologies including VMWare, Nutanix, Hyper-V, etc

- Architect, migrate, and optimize Microsoft 365 modern workplace workloads—including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Intune—covering Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, security, compliance, and tenant governance best practices
- One or more of the following architect-level certifications are highly desirable: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Multiple platform certifications, or equivalent experience (Windows, Linux, etc.)
