Data Software Engineer II IS, Virtual

Providence Health & Services is a leading healthcare organization dedicated to patient-focused care. The IS Software Engineer II will develop and deliver software solutions that enhance caregiver experiences, focusing on streamlining processes and improving data handling through modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

• Build tools that prioritize caregiver experience
• Facilitate the streamlining of payment systems
• Improve telemetry and observability
• Work with large data sets
• Deliver working software using AI agents and modern engineering practices
• Translate problem statements into clear plans and delivery on caregiver requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering -OR- a combination of equivalent education and experience
• 2 or more years of experience in software engineering or another related field of work
• Experienced with object-oriented programming in C#, Java, Python or equivalent
• Experienced with source code control systems such as Git
• Experienced in SQL integration development using SQL/NoSQL
• Experienced with agile methodologies and tools such as Azure Devops, TFS, and Jira
• Proven track record of working both independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplined team
• Experienced at designing and successfully implementing mid-sized projects
• Experienced in a healthcare setting
• 2 or more years of experience working in software development
• Experience developing agent‑based software solutions
• Strong understanding of event‑driven architecture
• Proven ability to decompose monolithic systems into smaller, manageable components
• Skilled in designing and implementing microservice architectures
• Working knowledge of data engineering concepts and best practices
