Universal Background Screening provides industry leading people insights to safety sensitive organizations through their background screening and verification services. They are seeking a highly driven SMB Sales Development Representative to engage small and mid-sized businesses, focusing on outbound prospecting and pipeline generation.
Responsibilities:
- Execute high-volume cold calling, email, and social outreach daily
- Identify and engage SMB prospects to generate new business opportunities
- Consistently meet or exceed daily and weekly activity targets (calls, emails, meetings set)
- Build and maintain a strong, self-generated pipeline
- Conduct discovery calls to uncover business needs and pain points
- Deliver compelling introductions and schedule qualified meetings
- Maintain relentless follow-up to convert prospects into opportunities
- Respond quickly to inbound leads while prioritizing outbound efforts
- Learn to connect customer challenges to business solutions
- Ask effective, probing questions to uncover decision drivers
- Handle objections with confidence and persistence
- Build credibility quickly with small business owners and decision-makers
- Establish trust through consistent, value-driven communication
- Stay engaged with prospects throughout the sales process
- Accurately track all outreach and activity in CRM systems
- Maintain organized notes, next steps, and follow-ups
- Demonstrate strong time management and pipeline ownership
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Highly competitive, self-motivated and results driven mindset
- Comfortable with high-volume cold-calling and rejection
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Demonstrate strong listening skills by identifying pain points and aligning solutions to customer needs
- Strong work ethic with the ability to maintain high daily activity levels
- Coachable with a desire to improve and win
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- 6-24 months of sales, customer service or high-volume outbound sales experience
- Exposure to CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or Outreach
- Demonstrated success in high-activity outbound prospecting environments
- Experience working in fast paced, metrics driven environments
