Microsoft Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD) is a global organization that provides comprehensive industry-specific solutions to its strategic customers. The Consulting Project Manager will drive delivery governance, enhance operational health, and support continuous improvement across delivery execution, ensuring high-quality delivery at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Establish Robust Delivery Governance and Operating Rhythm: Define and implement standardized processes, methods, and decision-making forums tailored to ISD Business Excellence. Enhance stakeholder engagement and communication to drive greater predictability and transparency in solution delivery
- Set and Uphold Delivery Standards: Develop and maintain ISD-specific templates, playbooks, and required documentation (such as project charters, integrated project plans, RAID logs, and status updates). Guide and coach teams to consistently adopt and apply these standards across all ISD engagements
- Deliver Actionable Portfolio Insights: Aggregate status, key metrics, and outcomes across the ISD project portfolio. Identify trends, flag early warning signs and blockers, and provide data-driven recommendations to ISD delivery leads and leadership for proactive decision-making
- Enhance Risk, Issue, and Change Management: Implement clear escalation paths, regular quality reviews, and standardized mitigation practices for risk and change management within ISD. Detect and address systemic risks, driving continuous improvements across teams and engagements
- Strengthen Financial and Operational Excellence: Work collaboratively with ISD operations, finance, and delivery partners to improve forecasting accuracy, budget and cost management, invoicing, and adherence to ISD governance requirements
- Enable Readiness and Execution Excellence: Support ISD engagement launch activities (including defining roles, RACI matrices, plans, and system/tool access). Promote consistent delivery practices and streamline operations by optimizing processes and tools to minimize friction
- Build and Scale Business Excellence Assets: Develop and share reusable assets such as reporting frameworks, automation solutions, and best-practice guidance. Capture and apply lessons learned, and drive a culture of continuous improvement through structured retrospectives and measurable outcomes within ISD Business Excellence
- Drive Agentic Solutions and AI Infusion: Lead the development and integration of agentic solutions and AI technologies within ISD delivery functions. Identify opportunities to leverage intelligent agents for automating processes, resolving issues proactively, and enhancing decision-making. Continuously assess and optimize agent-driven workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and responsiveness across ISD engagements
- Consulting Delivery Methodologies: Demonstrate expertise and experience in consulting delivery methodologies, both current and emerging, aligning with ongoing industry evolution to ensure ISD practices remain relevant and effective
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 5+ years experience in project management OR equivalent experience
- Bachelor's Degree in related field AND 12+ years experience in project management OR equivalent experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- 6+ years financial management experience
- Agile certification, Scrum Master, Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or Professional Scrum Master One (PSM1) certification
- Certification in relevant industry
- Experience leading cross-functional delivery operations, governance efforts to improve execution rigor across multiple projects/programs (e.g., standards, cadence, reporting, and escalations)
- Experience with project financial management (forecasting, budget/cost management, and basic profitability/risk concepts)
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives across business processes
- Proven ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, to align on delivery goals and priorities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience facilitating workshops, meetings, and training sessions
- Demonstrated experience implementing and sustaining process improvement frameworks such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on delivery excellence
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in business excellence, operational efficiency, and organizational change management
- Ability to identify business use cases for AI infusion and demonstrated skills in developing and implementing AI agents to drive operational improvements and innovation
- Demonstrated proficiency in core project management disciplines (planning, execution, scope, schedule, risk/issue, change control, quality, and communications)
- Experience delivering large, multi-workstream consulting engagements and partnering with sales on deal handoff, amendments, and deliverable acceptance
- Experience building portfolio reporting and insights (e.g., using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools) to inform delivery decisions and leadership visibility
- Experience leveraging and creating reusable delivery assets (templates, playbooks, automation, or other intellectual property)
