Head of Engineered Property

HSB - Hartford Steam Boiler is seeking a Head of Energy Practice to lead their Energy/Renewable Energy business within the Transactional Insurance segment. This role involves overseeing financial and operational performance, leading underwriting and business development functions, and managing partnerships to drive growth in energy-related products and services.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Energy/Renewable Energy business within the Transactional Insurance segment
• Oversee financial and operating performance of the Energy business
• Lead underwriting and business development functions focused on energy-related products and services
• Work in partnership with finance, corporate underwriting, operations, cat management, pricing, claims, marketing, and engineering
• Execute key strategies to drive growth through existing and alternative distribution channels
• Leverage partnerships with other Munich business segments to ensure competitive products and services
• Represent HSB as a visible industry subject matter expert in the energy marketplace
• Manage overall catastrophic accumulation risk of the Energy business
• Align with new Underwriting and Risk Management approaches for the energy sector

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Marketing, Engineering, or related discipline
• 10+ years' experience in the insurance and/or reinsurance industry
• 5+ years' experience in the Property insurance space, with preference for some focus in energy and renewable energy products
• Commercial Underwriting and Marketing experience
• Experience in project and time management
• Experience in the Energy segment especially in Renewable Energy space (e.g. either on the (Re)insurance or on the consulting side)
