JOB DUTIES:
Receives training on & assists higher-level real estate specialists with multilevel real estate services (e.g., leasing state land & buildings, lease of commercial space, acquisition & sale, oil & gas leasing, granting of easements & permits, reviewing of appraisals); performs basic real estate tasks &/or services covering multiple disciplines (e.g., title research/closing, appraisal & appraisal reports, relocation assistance, property management, sale, acquisition & transfer of real estate/land, land & building leasing); assists in negotiations with entities (e.g., state agencies, universities, cities, counties, developers, utility companies) seeking to use or lease state land (e.g., terms & conditions of leases, easements & permits on state property); receives training on & assists in real estate processes involved in property purchases (e.g., site selection, appraisal, negotiation, contract preparation, closing or appropriation if required) & property sales (e.g., prepares review appraisals, public advertisements & auction bid forms, conducts auction & prepares all documentation to complete sale).
Develops & prepares draft documents, reports & correspondence using a computer & related software (e.g., Microsoft Office); reviews & responds to informational inquiries from state agencies & universities or public & routes inquiries &/or complaints to appropriate higher-level real estate specialists as needed; maintains records & files relating to leasing, purchasing & sale of property & prepares appropriate real estate reports & documentation as requested; attends meetings & training sessions as required.

All bargaining unit new hires to ODOT must serve a one-year probationary period.
The selection process for this position will include a structured interview. Candidate responses to the interview questions will be scored and the selection will be made in accordance with the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.
This position is overtime eligible per FLSA Standards.
If this position is filled internally, the wage rate will be determined in accordance with the contract.
The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Criminal convictions do not necessarily preclude an applicant from consideration for a position. An individual assessment of an applicant’s prior criminal convictions will be made before excluding an applicant from consideration.
