Backend Software Engineer

edkey is a company focused on improving AI chatbots and their performance. They are seeking a Backend Software Engineer to evaluate and enhance AI model outputs through coding challenges, performance measurement, and detailed feedback documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Help evaluate and improve AI chatbots and model outputs by designing and administering coding challenges, measuring model performance, and providing detailed feedback
• Give AI chatbots coding challenges and evaluate their outputs for correctness and quality
• Measure model progress and evaluate logic, correctness, and performance of generated solutions
• Debug and analyze algorithmic outputs produced by models; compare against expected solutions
• Document findings and explain how your assessments map to improvements or failure modes
• Work asynchronously on projects you select and follow project-specific instructions and quality standards

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript required; familiarity with at least one of these languages: JavaScript, Python, C#, C++, HTML, SQL, or Swift
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and debugging workflows
• Ability to solve coding problems (LeetCode / HackerRank style) and clearly explain how your solution works and why it is correct
• Strong written and spoken English (native or bilingual level) to provide clear feedback and documentation
• Detail-oriented, able to follow instructions and consistently apply quality criteria
