About this role
Techgene Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer to configure, test, deploy, and troubleshoot complex network infrastructures. The role involves running network projects from design through implementation, configuration, testing, and turnup.
Responsibilities:
- Configures, tests, deploys, and troubleshoots complex network infrastructure such as routers, switches, wireless controllers, and access points
- Runs network projects from design through implementation, configuration, testing and turnup
Requirements:
- 5+ years creating configuration scripts, not just implementing a script another engineer created
- 5+ years LAN Network Engineering
- 5+ years' experience in Cisco Switch/Router network configuration and troubleshooting
- Expert knowledge of Cisco router and switch configuration and troubleshooting
- Expert knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting VSS and HSRP
- Expert knowledge of MACsec configuration and troubleshooting
- Expert knowledge of layer 2 tunneling
- Expert knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting layer 2 and layer 3 protocols (e.g. spanning tree, IPv4, 802.1q, EIGRP)
- Expert knowledge of Cisco software licensing and upgrading IOS
- Expert knowledge of IP addressing and subnetting
- Verbal and written Communication
- Visio, Power Point, Word, Excel
- LAN Design and Architecture - Minimum 5 years' experience
- Experience in Deploying and managing wireless environments (wireless LAN controller and access points)
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks
- Strong Communication and presentation skills
- Be able to communicate effectively with network engineering (internal and external) and management (internal and customer)
