NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. They are hiring a Failure Analysis Engineer to play a key role in their Supplier Quality Failure Analysis team, focusing on tracking failure analyses and ensuring consistent quality among supplier activities.
Responsibilities:
- Review and approval interim Failure Analysis reports, to make sure failing chip, device or component are correctly identified before sending to component supplier FA
- Work with custom manufacturers with their suppliers for supplier FA to solve hard problems
- Keep track of all kinds of root causes, grade 8D scores to FA report to monitor FA quality and corrective action effectiveness
- Provide training to every CM FA team and members to understand 8 fields (8D) requirements
- Monitor and maintain supplier FA quality by reviewing supplier FA report for minimum acceptance and grade 8D scores based on 8 fields standard
- Discuss with supplier FA teams for FA quality improvement with detailed 8D score items
Requirements:
- Possess an in-depth understanding of semiconductor IC, IC package and board fabrication/assembly processes
- Proficiency in IC Package device fault isolation and sample preparations for various failure analysis tasks, including defect localization and physical root cause analysis
- Familiarity with 2D/3D X-Ray, Ultrasound, Curve-tracing, Thermal/Photo Emission Microscopy, CAD layout, and respective analysis methods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 5+ years of industrial experience in IC failure analysis
- B.S. degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
