Acuity Insurance is seeking an Insurance Customer Service Intern to support Service Claims during after-hours. The intern will handle incoming calls, process new losses, and provide backup support across various operational units to ensure timely and accurate service.
Responsibilities:
- Answers incoming calls and handles them appropriately. This includes entering new losses, processing policy payments, and routing switchboard calls
- Inputs Automobile, Property, and General Liability losses received via mail, email, phone, or fax into the Claims System
- Indexes claims and commercial lines documents
- Assists with tasks in the units noted above and special projects as assigned
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma and one year post high school experience preferred
- Prior customer service experience required
- Flexibility and adaptability to do multiple tasks in each day
- Interpersonal skills to ensure appropriate coverage and interact with internal and external customers. Ability to empathetically lead the conversation, gather the necessary information and follow the screen flow
- Ability to learn quickly and utilize active listening to retain important conversation details
- General PC knowledge and ability to type alphanumeric data entry rate of required keystrokes per hour with minimal errors
- Ability to work 100% remotely
- Required to establish a workspace that is quiet, private, and free from interruptions. Must provide an internet connection, at own cost, that provides the necessary capacity and speed to conduct business
