NinjaOne is a company that simplifies IT operations for over 35,000 customers globally. They are seeking a Product Manager for their MDM team to oversee the roadmap for Apple device management capabilities, ensuring a user-friendly experience while collaborating with various teams to deliver features effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Define, prioritize, and drive the product roadmap for NinjaOne's Apple device management capabilities
- Translate customer needs, market trends, competitive positioning, and Apple platform changes into a clear, prioritized backlog with well-defined problem statements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Be the authority within the product organization for Apple MDM — enrollment workflows (ADE & Apple Configurator), Declarative Device Management (DDM), configuration profiles and payload lifecycle, APNs, Apps & Books (VPP), SCEP/certificate management, OS updates, FileVault, system extensions, and supervision
- Participate in Apple beta and seed programs, prototype new capabilities, and educate engineering, product, and cross-functional teams on platform changes and their implications
- Conduct customer research, competitive analysis, and market evaluation to identify gaps, opportunities, and emerging requirements in Apple device management
- Engage directly with customers and prospects to understand workflows, pain points, and use cases that inform roadmap decisions
- Partner with engineering, design, and QA to drive features through the full product development lifecycle — from discovery and definition through development, testing, and release
- Champion a user-experience-first approach: even the most complex Apple platform behaviors should translate into simple, intuitive workflows for IT administrators
- Ensure that what ships meets the quality bar and solves real customer problems
- Collaborate with product marketing, sales enablement, and account management to define positioning, messaging, and launch plans for Apple MDM features
- Participate in MDM communities, host webinars, and attend conferences representing NinjaOne and our Apple device management capabilities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or other related technical course of study, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, endpoint management, or device management — with direct exposure to Apple platform products
- Deep knowledge of the Apple device management ecosystem: Apple School Manager, Apple Business Manager, Automated Device Enrollment (ADE), supervision, APNs lifecycle, Declarative Device Management (DDM), configuration profiles and payloads, SCEP/certificate workflows, Apps & Books (VPP), and macOS-specific MDM behaviors (FileVault, system extensions, MDM OS updates)
- Experience owning a product roadmap — writing requirements, prioritizing trade-offs, and shipping features in collaboration with engineering and design
- Strong customer instincts — you engage directly with customers, synthesize feedback across multiple sources, and make product decisions grounded in real user problems
- Experience conducting competitive analysis and translating market dynamics into product strategy
- Your strong interpersonal skills make you effective when working on cross-functional teams
- You have a user-experience-first mindset — you instinctively look for ways to simplify complex workflows and believe that even deeply technical products should be easy to use
- You are an innovative and creative problem solver, comfortable with ambiguity, charting new territories and tackling new initiatives
- You have experience leading and contributing to technical discussions and helping navigate technical tradeoffs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills — comfortable presenting to customers, internal leadership, and at industry events
- Prior experience at an MDM, UEM, or endpoint management vendor (Jamf, Kandji/Iru, Addigy, Mosyle, Workspace ONE, Hexnode, Fleet, or similar)
- Hands-on experience managing Apple devices with and without MDM solutions — scripting (bash/zsh, Python, Swift), Apple Configurator, or lab-based prototyping and testing
- Experience with Apple beta/seed programs and translating WWDC announcements into product plans
- Familiarity with MSP workflows and the needs of managed service providers managing Apple device fleets
- Familiarity with adjacent areas: Android Enterprise, identity and access management (SAML/OIDC), or endpoint security
- Experience representing a product externally — conference speaking, webinars, community engagement, or customer advisory boards
- Certifications such as Jamf certifications, Apple platform certifications, or related industry credentials
