LHH is seeking a Data Engineer II to work on data systems and services critical to the Platform Ventures business. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines, collaborating with engineers and product managers, and troubleshooting production issues.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design, build, testing, scaling, and maintenance of data pipelines from a variety of source systems and streams, including internal, third‑party, and cloud‑based sources, in alignment with business and technical requirements
- Continuously improve the codebase and actively participate in all aspects of team operations, including Agile ceremonies
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as stand‑ups, retrospectives, and sprint planning
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as they arise
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in Data Engineering, including building data pipelines, orchestration, data modeling, and data lake architectures
- Programming experience in one or more of the following: Python, Java, or Scala, along with strong SQL skills and the ability to write reusable and efficient code to automate data processes
- Experience with data warehousing concepts, including relational and dimensional data modeling
- Strong experience working with diverse data sources such as APIs, real‑time feeds, and structured and semi‑structured file formats
- Experience processing large datasets and building pipelines using AWS Glue, Apache Airflow or Amazon MWAA, SQL, Python, and PySpark
- Experience developing near real‑time and batch data pipelines
- Experience with AWS data services including S3, Redshift, and DynamoDB, along with related tools such as Athena, EMR, Glue, and Lambda
- Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment
- Familiarity with software build, release, deployment, and monitoring tools and best practices
- Experience with Talend, Informatica, or other commercial ETL tools
- Experience working with Terraform
- Strong background in Test‑Driven Development and an understanding of appropriate testing levels required for continuous delivery
- Team‑oriented and collaborative mindset with a demonstrated willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and practices
- Ability to work effectively across teams, disciplines, and organizational levels
