Staff Machine Learning Engineer

The Home Depot is the world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer, dedicated to helping customers enhance and maintain their homes. The Staff Machine Learning Engineer will lead the design, development, deployment, and optimization of machine learning models and workflows to solve complex business challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, deployment, and optimization of machine learning models and workflows to solve complex business challenges
• Develop scalable algorithms
• Conduct data analysis
• Ensure model performance through robust evaluation and testing
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to identify strategic use cases
• Integrate models seamlessly into production systems

Requirements:

• Strong expertise in Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, and familiarity with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn
• Experience in Data Engineering, including data processing, ETL pipelines, and working with large-scale datasets
• Ability to design and deploy scalable cloud-based ML solutions on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Strong background in mathematics, statistics, and algorithm development
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across cross-functional teams
• Proven experience in critical thinking, problem-solving, and optimizing ML models for production environments
• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related field
• Familiarity with retail operations, e-commerce, or customer analytics
