Lead Devops Engineer

BMC Helix is an innovative company focused on delivering cutting-edge SaaS solutions for IT Service Management and Operations Management. They are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to oversee deployments and upgrades of their ITOM SaaS suite, drive automation initiatives, and establish reliable processes across global data centers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly deployments and upgrades of the ITOM SaaS suite across 20+ global data centers, including AWS GovCloud (IL4 and IL5)
• Oversee semi-annual upgrades of services like Victoria Metrics, OpenSearch, Redis, and Kafka across AWS, Oracle, and Google Cloud
• Migrate customers between ITOM instances, apply hotfixes, implement change requests, and resolve service requests
• Remediate monitoring alerts, drive automation initiatives, and establish repeatable, reliable processes that scale

Requirements:

• 8-10+ years of experience in a DevOps role
• Bachelor's Degree in a related field; certifications such as ITIL, MCSE, VCP, AWS, GCP, OCI are a plus
• Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance
• Strong experience with Kubernetes, including Helm charts
• Proficiency in Shell scripting (absolute must); additional scripting/automation experience with Python and Java is desirable
• Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Spinnaker, following best practices
• Solid knowledge of Terraform (must-have); Ansible experience is a plus
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and project management tools (JIRA)
• Experience with AWS (including GovCloud), Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud
• Proficient in AWS managed services such as Kafka, OpenSearch, ElastiCache, and Postgres/RDS
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Kibana, Fluentbit, Clickhouse; knowledge of Victoria Metrics is a bonus
